Note: There are some discrepancies between the stone data and Parish records as quoted.
I have not been able as yet to check which is correct. I suspect it is the reading
of the stone that is in error.
The St. Mary stone (no 33) gives the data incorporated in the above tree:
Thomas WARD, died 3 April 1831 age 82 (so born 1749)
Elizabeth WARD, died 8 Sep 1833 age 66 (so born 1767)
and their children:
Joseph - infant
Hannah, died 20 Oct 188x age 82 (so born between 1798 and 1807). Wife of Richard LONG.
Samuel, died 16 Dec 18xx age xx
Sarah, died 1 Apr 1825 age 30 (so born 1795)
The information on the St. Mary stone shows a common buriel site for the two WARD branches, so they must be related.
I had hoped to show (but failed so far) that Joseph WARD (b 1743) and Thomas WARD (b 1749) were brothers.
There is also a connection with the WAY family (a Thomas WAY married Sarah STEMBRIDGE 26 Feb 1835,
and the same Thomas WAY was a witness at the marriage of Joseph WARD and Ann STEMBRIDGE).
